Barcamp within an Enterprise to improve Internal Communication

February 14, 2007 on 7:58 pm |

A BarCamp is an international network of unconferences — open, participatory workshop-events, whose content is provided by participants. This is the introduction to the explanation on wikipedia.

The implementation of a Barcamp within an enterprise is a very interesting idea. Everybody of us knows the difficulties within the daily work between different departments. So why not use the idea of a Barcamp to improve the relations between different departments?
Every department sends a participant who explains some of the work he/she normally makes. It is also possible to send the associates to the Barcamp who have already very urgent problems. So everybody can explain his/her point of view on the topic. I think it is easier to solve such problems in an unformal ambience.

Two possible solutions for a Barcamp within an enterprise for internal communication:

  • Preventive before the problems escalate or
  • ad hoc if some evident problems between some departments occur.
